La Crosse, Wis.--The Penn women's soccer team could not pull off a second-consecutive upset of Viterbo as the Lady Statesmen fell 4-0 in Midwest Collegiate Conference play Saturday.
Penn (3-13-1, 1-5-1 MCC), who had knocked off the top-seeded V-Hawks in the semifinals of last year's league tournament, tallied just five shots in the setback.
Jessica Marshall (Jr., Peoria, Ariz., Phoenix College) led her team with two shots, while three others had one shot each.
Kristen Dolen (So., Independence, Mo., William Chrisman HS) allowed two goals with five saves in the first half, while Ashley Becko (Jr., Litchfield Park, Ariz., Phoenix College) had four saves in addition to also allowing a pair of scores.
Next: Penn hosts Grand View in MCC action for Senior Night Tuesday at 5 p.m.
The game will also be Mahaska Youth Soccer Night as players from the Mahaska Youth Soccer Club will walk onto the field with Penn players during team introductions.
The game will also be played in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month as both Penn teams will be wearing pink uniforms while pink ribbons will be sold for $1 as well. All proceeds will be donated to breast cancer research.
