Oskaloosa--The offensive hero of the Statesmen baseball program in 2007, Travon Jackson (Jr., Apple Valley, Calif., Modesto JC) was named to the all-Region VII team, announced yesterday.

Jackson was named as an outfielder, as 17 individuals garnered honors (nine from the MCC and eight from the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference).

Jackson paced Penn's offense throughout its 25-23 season, leading the team in numerous categories. The junior tied for the program's single-season record in doubles with 19, but also owned a team-leading .423 batting average. He also paced the Statesmen with 71 hits, five triples, 47 runs, a .613 slugging percentage, a .476 on-base percentage, and 19 stolen bases. Jackson also tallied 26 RBIs on the year.

Mount Mercy's Brandon Bradley was named Region VII Player of the Year, backing up his MCC POY award from Tuesday.
