Lauren Terrell scored her third and fourth goals of the year
Oskaloosa--Lauren Terrell (Fr., Chandler, Ariz., Chandler HS) scored twice Wednesday but it failed to be enough to lift the Lady Statesmen soccer team to victory as Penn tied Iowa Wesleyan 2-2 in Midwest Collegiate Conference action.

The Lady Statesmen (3-6-3, 0-2-1 MCC) dominated the early minutes against the Tigers as Terrell scored at the 13:00 mark off a pass from Whitney Withrow (Sr., Kuna, Idaho, Kuna HS).

The freshman then put her team up by a pair of scores with her team-leading four goal of the campaign off a pass from Caitlin Carnes (Fr., Claremore, Okla., Oologah HS) at the 27:22 point of the contest.

Unfortunately, Iowa Wesleyan did not fold under the pressure and cut the deficit to in half with a goal in the 39th minute and then tied the game for good in the 82nd minute.

Despite numerous opportunities, neither team could break the tie in the final minutes of the game or in either overtime.

Ashley Hasler (Sr., Ogden, Utah, Treasure Valley CC) led Penn with eight shots, while Terrell had six and Withrow and Melisa Wink (Fr., Brookfield, Ill., Lyons Township HS) tallied three apiece. Penn outshot Iowa Wesleyan 23-13.

Kristen Dolen (Jr., Independence, Mo., William Chrisman HS) finished with three saves to move her 2008 record to 1-2-2.
