Kristen Dolen has now claimed the honor twice in her career
Oskaloosa--Lady Statesmen goalkeeper Kristen Dolen (Jr., Independence, Mo., William Chrisman HS) shut out the only opponent she faced last week and her performance earned her Midwest Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors announced by the league office Monday.
Dolen, who has now been honored for the second time in her career (once in 2007), helped Penn (6-9-3, 2-5-1 MCC) to a 1-0 overtime win over Mount Mercy Saturday. The junior saved six shots to collect her second shutout of the campaign.
For the year, Dolen is 2-3-2 with a 2.16 Goals Against Average. She has 50 saves for a .725 save percentage.
The honor is the third of the year for the program and is also the second-straight week Penn has claimed the Defensive POW laurel.
