William Penn University head softball coach Mike Christner
has announced the signing of Ashley Kingery to a letter of intent to attend the University in the fall of 2009 and compete for the softball program.
Kingery, the daughter of Tim and Laura Kingery, is a native of Knoxville and will graduate from Knoxville HS next May.
Kingery was an Honorable-Mention All-State catcher as a junior in addition to also earning first-team all-conference laurels.
"We are glad to continue getting area softball players into our program," Christner said. "Ashley will be a good addition to our team and we are excited about her coming to William Penn."
Penn, who finished the 2008 campaign at 35-21 overall (21-5 MCC), reached the NAIA Region VII Tournament for the seventh year in a row.
