Oskaloosa--Statesmen soccer player
Bram Vermeulen (Jr., Oskaloosa, Oskaloosa HS) was honored for his excellence in the classroom as he was named a 2008 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete.
Vermeulen owns a 3.989 Grade Point Average with a double major in sociology and computer science.
The NAIA announced 264 men's soccer players from over 100 schools were awarded the laurel. Westminster (Utah) led the division with 11 selections.
To be eligible for the award, athletes must be of at least junior academic standing, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and have attended the nominating institution for at least one full academic year.
