The 197-pounder finished his first national tournament experience with a 6-1 loss to #2 seed Nic Leither of Northwestern in the All-American round. Spain ended his two-day run with a 1-2 record.

Taylor Louie (So., West Covina, Calif., West Covina HS) and 174-pounder
T.J. Stuart (So., Eddyville, Eddyville-Blakesburg HS) were both 2-2 at the Championships, finishing two wins shy of earning an All-American honor.

Dustin Howa (Sr., Price, Utah, Carbon HS) joined Louie and Stuart by winning his first match, but then dropped his final two to finish 1-2 at the Championships.
Four Penn wrestlers left nationals without a win (0-2). That group included 125-pounder
David Crow (So., Baumholder, Germany, Baumholder HS), 149-pounder
Corey Johnson (Jr., West Park, Fla., Miramar HS), 157-pounder
Levi Davidshofer (Fr., New Market, Clarinda HS), and 285-pounder
Ryan Groom (Fr., Oskaloosa, Oskaloosa HS).
As no other teams below them have any wrestlers still in action, the Statesmen will finish 27th as a team with 5.5 points.
Lindenwood (Mo.) has all but wrapped up another national team title, leading the team standings with 147 points. The Lions have eight wrestlers still competing (five in the finals). Southern Oregon is a very distant second with 107.5 points after the third session, including seven individuals still competing (three in the finals). Missouri Valley is third with 103 points, including seven grapplers left (two in the finals).
McKendree (Ill.), with 94.5 points, and Dickinson State (N.D.), with 72.5 points, round out the top five.
