Seth Vernon led Penn by carding a 79
Indianola--The Penn men's golf team experienced a difficult foe in the Indianola Country Club as it competed in the Simpson Storm Spring Invitational.

Penn finished sixth out of 11 teams with a score of 330 at the par-71 course. Central claimed the title with a score of 299.

Andy Petersen of Central took home the tournament's medalist honor with an even par score of 71, two shots better than fellow teammates Andrew Townsend and Justin Smool (Central White).

Seth Vernon (So., Knoxville, Knoxville HS) topped the Statesmen varsity by tying for 11th with a score of 79.

Gavin Miles (Fr., East London, South Africa, Selborne College) was next for Penn in a tie for 18th at 80, while Seb Stobart (Fr., Ndola, Zambia, Simba International School) carded an 84 to tie for 30th.

Ian Minder (Fr., Muscatine, Muscatine HS) tied for 36th at 87 and Lucas Troyer (Jr., Kalona, Mid-Prairie HS) rounded out the squad by tying for 40th at 88.

Next: Penn concludes its spring season this Saturday and Sunday by hosting the final two rounds of the Midwest Collegiate Conference Championships at Oskaloosa Golf Course in Oskaloosa.
