Oskaloosa--William Penn University women's basketball coach Brian Spielbauer has announced the signings of four players to letters of intent to attend the University in the fall and compete for the women's basketball program.

Laura Graybill is the daughter of Randy and Angela Graybill. A 5-10 forward, she comes to Penn from NAIA Missouri Valley, where she played in all but one of the Vikings' games.

"Laura is a very solid player with tons of potential," Spielbauer said. "She has good size and a nice jumper. We are happy to have her here."

Alicia Smith is a 5-6 point guard and comes to Penn from Lamar CC in Colorado.

"Alicia is a hoop-aholic, a real gym rat," Spielbauer said. "She loves the game and will put all she has into it. You cannot have enough players like that in your program. She is a very solid addition."

Roni Connelly is the daughter of Ron and Karen Connelly. A 5-7 wing, she comes to Penn from league rival Ashford, where she played in several games off the bench.

"Roni is a great kid that is looking forward to coming here and competing," Spielbauer said. "She is tough and we need that."

Orielle Thomas is the daughter of Sarita Thomas. A 5-9 forward from Waynesville, Mo., she comes to Penn from Waynesville HS.

"Orielle had a good high school career and we look for that to continue," Spielbauer said. "She is very strong and we look forward to seeing her develop."

Penn finished the 2008-2009 season at 10-22.
