Oskaloosa--The Penn cheerleaders started their 2009-2010 season with success at the National Cheerleaders Association Summer Camp on August 15-16.
The camp, held at Iowa State University's campus in Ames, hosted eight schools from three states. Penn performed so well to receive a bid to the National Championships in Daytona Beach, Fla. next April. The squad also placed third for Superior Showmanship and was presented a Spirit Stick representing spirit and enthusiasm for the camp.
The team will perform at all home football and basketball games.
