Mount Pleasant--It has been said that the road "ain't no place to start a family", but it also not a good place to try to end a losing streak as the Statesmen soccer team finished on the losing end of a 2-0 score against Iowa Wesleyan in Midwest Collegiate Conference play Wednesday.
Penn (2-6-1, 0-3 MCC), owners of a six-game losing streak after starting 2-0-1, was doubled up in shots 14-7 against the host Tigers (3-8, 1-1 MCC).
Iowa Wesleyan scored in the 15th and 55th minutes to take the victory.
Tim Eyer (Jr., Palos Heights, Ill., Shepard HS) led the Statesmen with two shots, while five other players had one shot apiece.
Tadeo Cavazos (Sr., Baytown, Texas, Lee HS) posted four saves in the setback.
Next: Penn travels to La Crosse, Wis. Saturday to face Viterbo in Midwest Collegiate Conference action at 1 p.m.
