Oskaloosa--Statesmen soccer player
Jacob Plocher (Sr., West Plains, Mo., West Plains HS) had a hand, or more appropriately a foot, in almost every goal last week and his efforts earned him Midwest Collegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Plocher took home his first-ever weekly award as he helped Penn (4-7-1, 1-4 MCC) to two wins last week in breaking its seven-game losing streak.
The senior assisted on both the game-tying and game-winning goals in last Tuesday's 2-1 win over Avila (Mo.) and then assisted on the game-winner and also had a goal of his own in Saturday's 3-1 victory against Waldorf.
For the season, Plocher leads the Statesmen with six assists in addition to two goals. He is second on the team with ten statistical points (2 points for a goal, 1 point for an assist).
It is the first weekly honor for the men's soccer program this fall.
