The Statesmen placed 21st out of 26 teams with 588 points as Rio Grande (Ohio) claimed the crown with 89 points in a meet that featured 265 runners.
Brandon Nicholson (Fr., Cedar Falls, Cedar Falls HS) led Penn on the 8K course by finishing 88th overall in a time of 28:16:01.
Jordan Letzring (Jr., Alta, Alta HS) was next in 96th place in a time of 28:26:41.
Donovan DeVore (So., Wilton, Wilton HS) then finished in 175th in a time of 30:31.96.
Josh Roudabush (Jr., Brooklyn, BGM HS), in 203rd place in a time of 31:23.19, and
Zack Schrock (So., Urbandale, Colfax-Mingo HS), in 240th place in a time of 35:04.46, rounded out the Statesmen finishes that counted towards the team tally.
Penn had two more individuals that competed for the first time this fall.
Michael Pilcher (Fr., Eddyville, Eddyville-Blakesburg HS) was 250th overall in a time of 37:57.02, while
Josh Molyneaux (Fr., Deep River, Tri-County HS) was 263rd in a time of 43:20.24.
