Oskaloosa--The Lady Statesmen soccer team was on its heels much of the game against St. Ambrose in dropping a 4-0 Midwest Collegiate Conference decision Saturday.

Penn (5-9-1, 1-5-1 MCC), who will now need to knock off Mount Mercy next Saturday to assure itself of not having to play in the MCC Tournament's 8 vs. 9 game, failed to match up well against St. Ambrose.

The Queen Bees (13-1-1, 6-0-1 MCC), who are unofficially ranked 27th in the NAIA, clinched at least a share of the MCC regular season crown with the victory.

Saint Ambrose scored just once in the first half, but tallied three more goals in the second stanza to pull away.

Brittany Hajicek (So., Grand Prairie, Texas, Mansfield Timberview HS) had three of the five Lady Statesmen shots on the day.

Kristen Dolen (Sr., Independence, Mo., William Chrisman HS) tallied a season-high 15 saves in the loss.

Next: Penn travels to Canton, Mo. Wednesday to face Culver-Stockton in non-conference action at 2 p.m.
