Oskaloosa--The Penn men's soccer team will likely be on the road for the entire Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament which begins Sunday.
Penn (7-8-1, 3-5 MCC) enters the national-qualifying tournament as the #7 seed out of nine teams. The Statesmen will open the tourney against #2 seed Viterbo (Wis.) Sunday at 2 p.m. in La Crosse, Wis.
The two squads met in La Crosse on October 3, and despite leading 3-2 halfway through the second stanza, Penn eventually fell 9-3.
Sunday's other first-round matchups pit #3 Grand View against #6 Iowa Wesleyan in Des Moines and #4 Mount Mercy against #5 Clarke in Cedar Rapids. All games will begin at 2 p.m.
#1 seed Ashford will wait to see who it plays in Sunday's other quarterfinal game in Clinton as #8 St. Ambrose and #9 Waldorf face off Thursday in Davenport in the play-in game.
The semifinals are set for Sunday, November 8 at 2 p.m. at the site of the highest remaining seeds and the championship game will be Thursday, November 12 at 2 p.m. at the site of the highest remaining seed.
