Oskaloosa--The Lady Statesmen basketball team broke a record Monday night that had stood for over 32 years as it dumped Faith Baptist Bible 69-16 in non-conference action.

The Eagles' single-game point tally is the lowest in school history, breaking the old mark of 21 points by Iowa Wesleyan on February 13, 1976.

Penn (4-2) allowed just two points at the break to lead 32-2. The Eagles (2-2) were held to only 5.3% from the field at that juncture.

Christa Subbert (Jr., Stanton, Stanton HS) led all scorers as the lone player in double figures with ten points. Fifteen of the 17 Lady Statesmen that saw the floor scored in the contest.

Samantha Darley (Jr., Gilbert, Ariz., Mesa CC) added nine points with a trio of three-pointers, while Raven House (So., New Orleans, La., Cabrini HS) had seven points.

April Wilbur (Jr., Rosamond, Calif., Antelope Valley CC) and Chandra Melaragno (Sr., Hartville, Ohio, Marlington HS) finished with six points each, while Ashton Perez (Jr., Wildomar, Calif., Riverside CC) contributed five points in the victory.

The trio of Nancy Chicas (Sr., San Francisco, Calif., San Mateo CC), Jacelynn Smith (Sr., Tucson, Ariz., Cienega HS), and Carleigh Hobson (Jr., Lancaster, Calif., Antelope Valley CC) dished out three assists apiece, while four players collected two steals each.

Penn outshot Faith Baptist Bible 43.3%-17.0% and outrebounded the Eagles 44-35.  Janice Adams (Sr., Chicago, Ill., Austin HS) paced the Lady Statesmen with six rebounds.

Next: Penn has a quick turnaround as it travels to Fayette Tuesday night to face NCAA Division II Upper Iowa in a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m.
