Ashley Hart led the group with a 3.752 GPA
Oskaloosa--Three Penn women's soccer players were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2009 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Soccer Scholar-Athletes.

Ashley Hart
(Jr., Gilbert, Ariz., Desert Ridge HS) owns a 3.752 Grade Point Average in journalism, while Hillary Gallego (Jr., Arlington, Texas, Mansfield Summit HS) has a 3.689 GPA in education.

Sophie Duke
(Jr., Coventry, England, Warwickshire College), with a 3.638 GPA in physical education, was honored as well.

The NAIA announced that 387 women's soccer players were awarded the laurel.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must be of at least junior academic standing, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and have attended the nominating institution for at least one full academic year.
