Oskaloosa--As part of the NAIA's Champions of Character initiative, several members of the William Penn men's soccer team volunteered their time by ringing bells for the Salvation Army in December.

Team members rang bells on December 10 in front of the Oskaloosa Wal-Mart store. The squad raised a total of $117.24 in donations.

All of the money raised from the campaign will remain in Mahaska County to those who have suffered tragedies, as well as children and families in need.

"This is a great cause and it's worth bearing a little cold weather to give back," Statesmen Head Coach Kevin Rushing said. "It's always good to give back to Oskaloosa in any way possible!"
