Des Moines--The Penn wrestling team needed to be perfect in the matches it competed in Wednesday, but the host team would not be denied as the Statesmen fell 45-7 to #6 Grand View in dual action Wednesday.

Matt Chustz
(Sr., Manassas Park, Va., Manassas Park HS) opened the night on a positive note with a 13-4 major decision at 125 pounds.

Penn (0-2) unfortunately could not build on that as the visitors lost the next eight matches, including dropping four by forfeit.

Ryan Groom (So., Oskaloosa, Oskaloosa HS) gave the Statesmen a nice close to the evening, however, as he claimed a 5-4 decision at heavyweight.

Next: Penn travels to Pella Saturday to compete in the Central Open. Action begins at 9 a.m.
