Penn placed 35th out of 69 teams with 8,434 pins in nine regular games.
Wichita State's (Kan.) team took first in the standings with 9,849 pins, while runner-up Webber International (Fla.) claimed the bracket tournament crown, defeating Robert Morris (Ill.) 3-0 in the finals.
Sean Rangel (Fr., Omaha, Neb., Bellevue East HS) headlined the Statesmen effort by placing 61st (out of 472 bowlers) with a 195.4 average in nine games.
James Miller (Jr., Oswego, Ill., Vincennes) finished 63rd with a 197.1 average, while
Kyle Hammann (So., Knoxville, Knoxville HS) owned a 179.9 average. Both bowled in all nine games.
Brandon Brooks (Jr., Sigourney, Vincennes) averaged 185.6 pins in seven games, while
Andrew Zaug (Fr., Waverly, Waverly-Shell Rock HS) bowled in just four games, but competed very well with a 201.5 average.
Aaron Foubert (Fr., What Cheer, Tri-County HS), with a 164.5 average in four games, and
Jacob Pauly (Fr., Bellevue, Neb., Bellevue East HS), with a 170.3 average in three games, rounded out the team's scoring.
Brooks and Rangel will now represent Penn at the individual sectional tournament in March. Although the team did not qualify for sectionals by ranking 75th nationally (must be in the top 64), the pair has been given the opportunity by the coaching staff to compete in the postseason.
