Oskaloosa--William Penn University co-men's golf coach Wade Steinlage has announced the signing of Joe Lennon-Joiner to a letter of intent to attend the University in the fall and compete for the men's golf program.

Lennon-Joiner, the son of Graham and Georgina Lennon-Joiner, is a native of Buckinghamshire, England and currently attends The Misbourne School.

Currently the captain of his junior team, he is a Scratch team player and afternoon winner of the BB&O Junior Championships this year. He was also captain of the vice junior team as well as a Scratch player a year ago.

Lennon-Joiner has extensive experience in international competition, playing in Scottish Under-14 and Under-16 tournaments as well as Irish Under-15 tournaments.

Starting at a young age, Lennon-Joiner was the group winner of several junior masters tournaments before the age of 12.

"We are overjoyed to add Joe to our squad for next year," Steinlage said. "He is our first player from England and I truly hope this will open a pipeline to that country. He is a bright and very mature young man who will bring a tremendous work ethic with him. He will make an immediate impact on our program."

Penn finished fourth at this spring's Midwest Collegiate Conference Championships.
