The Lady Statesmen (42-11) enter the ‘Final Four' as the #2 seed and will join #1 Mount Mercy, #3 Grand View, and #4 Waldorf in the double-elimination tournament hosted on the campus of Iowa State University.

Penn, winners of its pod last weekend, opens the tournament Saturday with a 10 a.m. meeting with Grand View. Mount Mercy and Waldorf face off in the other ‘semifinal' at 12:30 p.m.

Win or lose, the Lady Statesmen do not play again until 5:30 that afternoon so seniors can attend graduation back in Oskaloosa. One team will be eliminated on Saturday.

The championship game is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday with an If Necessary game slated for 30 minutes after that.

Penn finished the season 2-0 against Grand View (20-1, 6-1), 2-1 against Waldorf (16-4, 4-5, 7-2), and 0-2 against Mount Mercy (0-1, 1-2).

The tournament champion receives the league's automatic berth to the NAIA National Softball Championships May 20-26 in Decatur, Ala.
