Oskaloosa--Seb Stobart (So., Harare, Zimbabwe, St. Georges College) and Mattias Carlsson (Fr., Uddevalla, Sweden, Agnebergskolan HS) were rewarded for strong seasons as the 2010 all-Midwest Collegiate Conference men's golf teams were announced Monday.

The pair was named to the five-player honorable-mention squad, while the league's top five players, as voted on by the MCC's coaches, garnered first-team recognition.

Dusty Drenth of St. Ambrose was named MCC Player of the Year for the second year in a row. Chris Winkel of Grand View was tabbed as MCC Coach of the Year.

Stobart owned a 76.7 stroke average over 22 18-hole rounds of competition between last fall and this spring.

The sophomore, who had four top-ten finishes (12 tournaments), had 17 rounds in the 70s, including breaking par twice. The winner of the Statesmen Spring Classic with a score of three-under 141, including a season-low tally of 70, he was a major reason the Statesmen finished in the top half at the league championships, despite playing with four freshmen and a sophomore.

Carlsson owned a 78.6 scoring average in 20 rounds of competition. The freshman, who placed in the top ten once, tallied a season-low score of 74 twice. He recorded 13 rounds under 80.
