Oskaloosa--William Penn University women's basketball coach
Brian Spielbauer has announced the signings of three individuals to letters of intent to attend the University in the fall and compete for the women's basketball program.
A 5-7 point guard, Kaitlin Brichetto, the daughter of James and Cynthia Brichetto, will come to Penn from Des Moines Lincoln HS.
"Kaitlin is a very good, very smart basketball player," Spielbauer said. "She has great point guard skills and potential. She will develop into a fine player in our program."
Nateiga Cameron, the daughter of Henry and Teri Cameron, will also come to Penn from Des Moines Lincoln HS.
The 5-9 forward averaged 13.7 points and was an all-district selection under the direction of Coach Jerry Schartner.
"Nateiga is a great athlete and plays hard," Spielbauer said. "We are very pleased to be able to get two great players from Lincoln HS."
A 5-8 guard, Bre'Ana Dayton, the daughter of Michael and Robin Dayton, is a native of Lee's Summit, Mo. and will come to Penn from Blue Springs South HS.
"Bre'Ana is a good player and we are glad to have her," Spielbauer said. "She has the ability to play several positions and should develop into a solid player."
Penn finished the 2009-2010 season at 17-14 overall (9-7 MCC). The 17 wins were the most for the program since the 1989-1990 season. It was also the first winning season for the team since 1993-1994.
