Oskaloosa--William Penn University men's basketball coach
John Henry has announced the signing of Nicholas Livisay to a letter of intent to attend the University in the fall and compete for the men's basketball program.
Livisay, the son of Sharon Livisay, is a native of Arlington, Tenn. and will come to Penn from Southwest Tennessee CC.
The 6-9, 215-pound center was a high school teammate of current Statesmen basketball player Jumahl Depriest at Bolton HS. He began his collegiate career by playing one year at NCAA Division I Arkansas-Pine Bluff before transferring to Southwest Tennessee CC.
Statistically, Livisay averaged 12 points and eight rebounds as a senior at Bolton HS and then played 14 games at UA-PB.
"Nic is extremely long and athletic," Henry said. "He will give us a shot-blocking presence and play above the rim. Coach Thomas, Coach Hickombottom, and Jumahl Depriest were very instrumental in our recruitment of Nic."
Penn finished the 2009-2010 season at 22-11 overall (9-7 MCC). The team reached the MCC Tournament Finals for the sixth time in the last seven years.
