Oskaloosa--William Penn University men's basketball coach John Henry has announced the signing of Brandt George to a letter of intent to attend the University in the fall and compete for the men's basketball program.

George, the son of Bill George and Jan Ayers, is a native of Patoka, Ind. and comes to Penn from Princeton HS, where he played under Penn alum Tom Weeks.

A high school teammate of current Penn player A.J. Rogers, George averaged 10.2 points per game as a senior to help Princeton to a perfect 29-0 record and the Class 3A state title.

"I chose William Penn because of its education, basketball program, and size," George said. "I feel it's the right place for me."

Penn finished the 2009-2010 season at 22-11 overall (9-7 MCC). The team reached the MCC Tournament Finals for the sixth time in the last seven years.
