The visitors fell in the night's first two matches before 141-pounder Alfredo Velazquez (So., Fontana, Calif., AB Miller HS) and 149-pounder Jason Mozley (Fr., Arlington, Texas, Martin HS) both won their respective matches by major decision.

Eric Burgey (Fr., Easton, Pa., Easton HS) then put his squad on top at 11-9 with a decision win at 157 pounds.

The next four weights went to the Warriors (1-1), however, including the forfeit at 184 and a loss by fall at 197 pounds.

Although his team had already mathematically lost the meet, heavyweight Nathan Merical (Fr., Grinnell, Grinnell HS) made the trip home a bit nicer as he won by fall in a time of 2:06.

Next: Penn travels to Indianola Saturday to compete in the Simpson Invitational. Action begins at 9 a.m.
