Oskaloosa--The Statesmen wrestling team was just not in its opponent's league Wednesday night as Penn fell to #2 nationally-ranked Grand View 43-4 in dual meet action.

Penn (1-3) dropped the first three matches of the night, including a tight 7-6 contest at 125 pounds that saw Taylor Louie (Sr., West Covina, Calif., West Covina HS) on the losing end.

Eric Burgey (Fr., Easton, Pa., Easton HS), who had not competed since December 4, finally got his team on the board at 149 pounds with an impressive 18-10 major decision win over Justian Dixon.

The Statesmen, who forfeited at 157 pounds, fell in the remaining six matches to conclude the dual. Chris Diaz (Jr., Montrose, Colo., Olathe HS) was another heartbreak loser, coming up short in a 3-2 decision at 197 pounds.

Next: Penn travels to Pella Saturday to compete in the Central Open. Action begins at 9 a.m.
