He then pinned Joe Wood of Loras in a time of 1:25 to claim his third championship of the year (also won at Iowa Lakes CC and Central).

Jason Mozley (Fr., Arlington, Texas, Martin HS) joined Burgey in the finals, pinning his first opponent in 4:16 and then winning 7-0 to reach the championship match where he was pinned in 4:55 by Tommy Glenn (Wisconsin-Unattached). If there were one more person in the seven-person bracket, Mozley would have qualified for nationals (must have a minimum of eight competitors).

Chris Diaz (Jr., Montrose, Colo., Olathe HS) also won matches (both were 1-2) to place in the top five (Diaz was fourth, Louie was fifth).
