La Crosse, Wis.--After not finding a lot of success in five consecutive home games, the Lady Statesmen soccer team was hoping to get things going on the road, but Viterbo had other plans, winning 7-0 in Midwest Collegiate Conference play Saturday.
William Penn (1-8-1, 0-4 MCC) was outshot 20-4 and trailed 2-0 entering intermission. The second half was much worse unfortunately with the V-Hawks (4-7, 1-2 MCC) securing their first MCC win with five more scores.
Melisa Wink (Sr., Brookfield, Ill., Lyons Township HS) tallied two shots (one on goal) to lead William Penn.
First half goalkeeper
Ali Parks (So., Omaha, Neb., Central HS) managed four saves against two goals allowed, while
Laura Gentry (So., Fruitland, Idaho, Fruitland HS) had a tougher time with five goals allowed and three saves in the second stanza.
