Melisa Wink had three shots and Laura Gentry made nine saves
Oskaloosa--The William Penn women's soccer team had to wait an hour to even get its game underway, but when play resumed it was all visitors as Avila (Mo.) shut out the navy and gold 4-0 in non-conference play Wednesday.
In a matchup that was postponed due to inclement weather, the Lady Statesmen (1-11-1) were outshot 23-4, but gave up just one goal in the first half.
A quick score after the break opened the flood gates, however, and two more goals were tallied for the Eagles (11-1-2).
Melisa Wink (Sr., Brookfield, Ill., Lyons Township HS) led her offense with three shots, while
Laura Gentry (So., Fruitland, Idaho, Fruitland HS) saved nine shots.
