Jalen Wilson gives William Penn five MCC honors this year
Oskaloosa--Jalen Wilson (Fr., Desoto, Texas, Duncanville HS) narrowly punched his ticket for the national meet last week and his efforts earned the freshman Midwest Collegiate Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors today.
Wilson won last Friday's long jump event at the Simpson Kip Janvrin Open with a mark of 23-2.5. He paced 22 athletes in the event.
The freshman finished just 0.75 inches shy of returning to nationals after accomplishing the feat during the indoor season.
The award is the fifth for the program this year.
