Amana--In the final competition of the 2004-2005 year, the William Penn men's golf team posted a seventh-place finish at the Mt. Mercy Amana Classic, Tuesday. Between bouts of rain and hail, the Statesmen posted a score of 344 in the ten-team meet on the Amana Colonies Golf Course. St. Ambrose claimed the team title at 308, while the Fighting Bees' Tim Puetz won a playoff for the individual medalist honor, shooting a 74. Philip Conover (Sr., Creston, Creston HS) led Penn by shooting an 84. A trio of Statesmen were also in the 80s, including Derek Schultz (Jr., Centerville, Centerville HS) with an 85, Aaron O'Brien (Sr., Ottumwa, Ottumwa HS) with an 86, and Colter DePaoli (Fr., Calgary, Alberta, Oilfields HS) with an 89. Philip Anderson (Jr., Oskaloosa, Oskaloosa HS) rounded out the Statesmen scoring with a score of 113.
