Oskaloosa--Nenad Markovic (Fr., Belgrade, Serbia) has been rewarded for one of the best offensive campaigns in school history as the Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Postseason Teams were announced Tuesday.

Markovic was one of 13 players named to the league's first team.  A second team and third team, also consisting of 13 individuals each, were honored as well.

Not only was Markovic picked as one of the top overall players, but he also claimed the Heart's Freshman of the Year laurel.

The freshman has led the Statesmen to a 7-9-2 overall record, including a 4-7-1 Heart mark and the #9 seed for the postseason tournament.  He leads WPU with 14 goals and five assists for 33 total points.  Four of his goals have been game winners and he has managed three two-goal performances.

Within the Heart, he ranks second in both goals and points; among all NAIA players, Markovic is fourth in game-winning goals, 23rd in total goals and 24th in total points.

Markovic's 14 goals are tied for the third-most in a single season at William Penn, while his 33 points are fourth on the all-time list.

Sam Blackman of Grand View was picked as both the conference's Most Valuable Player and the Offensive Player of the Year, while Frantzly Zephirin of MidAmerica Nazarene was tabbed as Defensive Player of the Year.  Dominic Harrington of MNU took home Newcomer of the Year accolades and Kevin Wardlaw of MNU was named Coach of the Year.
