Willie McGowan - Head Coach - 1st Season

William McGowan begins his first year as head women's soccer coach at William Penn after taking over the program in December 2011.
 
McGowan comes to William Penn after serving the same role at Iowa Central Community College for the past seven years. During that stretch, he led the Tritons to an 87-42-9 record, including a 37-14-3 mark in conference play.

McGowan was named NSCAA Central Region Women's Coach of the Year and NJCAA Region XI Men's and Women's Coach of the Year in 2005. That fall, he guided the women to a seventh-place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament.

McGowan's teams were also strong academically, earning numerous NSCAA and NJCAA scholar awards.

McGowan, who garnered his associate's degree from Iowa Central in 2000, joined the Triton staff as an assistant in 2002 and continued in that position until his hiring as head coach in 2005.

McGowan owns several coaching certifications, including an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, a USSF National ‘D' Certificate, and an NSCAA Regional Goalkeeping Diploma (Level II).

He also served as Head Girls Soccer Coach at Fort Dodge High School from 2009 to 2011.

A 2002 graduate of Grand View University with a degree in psychology, McGowan earned his masters in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University (Calif.) earlier this fall.

Bill Collman - Assistant Coach - 4th Season

Bill Collman is in his fourth year as assistant women's soccer coach.

Collman brings a plethora of coaching experience to the Lady Statesmen bench.  He started his career at the collegiate level, heading the men's soccer program at Bryan (Tenn.) for four years and then leading Blackburn (Ill.) for another four seasons.

The inaugural coach for the Statesmen and Lady Statesmen soccer programs in 1996, Collman led the men for four years and the women for three campaigns.

Now at the prep level, Collman has been the girls' soccer coach at Pella Christian HS for the past ten years.

Collman is a professor in the physical education department at William Penn and resides in Oskaloosa.

Ashley Becko is in her second year as graduate assistant women's soccer coach.

Becko, a spring 2010 graduate of William Penn with a degree in secondary education (math), was a student assistant coach last year and will assist with the goalkeepers.

After playing two seasons at Phoenix CC, Becko transferred to William Penn and finished her collegiate career with two more years between the pipes.

In the navy blue and gold, she played 15 games, owning a 3-5 record with a 1.62 Goals Against Average. She tallied two shutouts as a senior and was named MCC Defensive Player of the Week once.

Becko is currently working on her master's of business leadership degree from William Penn.

Jamie Gibbons is in his second year as graduate assistant women's soccer coach.

Gibbons, a spring 2010 graduate of William Penn with a degree in business management, transferred to the University from Iowa Western CC, where he was a team captain as a sophomore.

In two years at William Penn, he scored four goals with three assists for 11 total points.  A team captain as a senior, he tallied one game-winner in the navy blue and gold.

A native of West Des Moines, Gibbons was a member of the 2006 state championship team at Valley High School.  He earned first-team all-conference laurels that season.

Gibbons is currently working on his master's of business leadership degree from William Penn.
