Wade Steinlage is in his tenth year as sports information director, eighth year as assistant men's golf coach, and fourth year as assistant women's golf coach.
Steinlage came to William Penn from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, where he spent one year as an intern in the sports information office. At Angelo State, he was the primary contact for women's soccer, volleyball, men's basketball, and softball.
Steinlage serves as the primary media contact for all Statesmen and Lady Statesmen athletic programs. His responsibilities include producing media guides and game programs, doing statistical work at all home contests, serving the media and working with other SID offices, updating the athletics web site (
www.statesmenathletics.com), writing previews and recaps of events, and other duties as assigned.
Steinlage was introduced to the Sports Information world as a student worker at Central College in Pella from 2001-2003. Prior to that experience, he was a sports writer for the Oskaloosa Herald and Pella Chronicle newspapers in 2001. He also interned for the West Ealing Newspaper Group in London.
Steinlage received his bachelor's degree in communication and sociology from Central College in May of 2003. He resides in Oskaloosa with his wife Jodi, a 2006 graduate of William Penn, and their two children Whitney and Wyatt.
