Ike Hammerly
Head Strength and Conditioning Coach

Ike
Hammerly is in his third year as strength and conditioning coach at Penn.

Hammerly came to Penn after spending part of the 2007-2008 year holding the same position at Loras College. While at Loras, he designed, implemented, and supervised training programs for 21 varsity sports. In addition to supervising the fitness center, Hammerly also collaborated with the Sports Science faculty to create internship opportunities.

Prior to his time at Loras, Hammerly was an assistant S&C coach in charge of Olympic sports at Iowa State University from 2006-2008. He worked with 18 Big 12 Conference varsity teams and supervised nutritional supplement programs in accordance with NCAA/Big 12 rules and regulations. Hammerly was a graduate assistant for one year prior to being promoted to assistant status.

Hammerly also gained experience while working at Pella Health and Fitness after graduating from Central College in 2004 with a degree in exercise science and a focus in health promotion. He is currently working towards his graduate degree from Iowa State.

A two-sport athlete while at Central, Hammerly was a four-year letterwinner in football, including earning all-Iowa Conference honors in 2002. He was also named a team captain as a senior and was the recipient of the Sterling Strength and Conditioning Male Athlete of the Year Award and the Mel Vermeer Team Loyalty Award. He also competed in track and field at Central.

Hammerly is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He is a Certified Level I/Club Coach from the USA Weightlifting Association as well.
 
Josh Beauregard
Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant Coach

Josh Beauregard is a native of Pleasantville, Iowa. He received his undergraduate degree from Coe College in Physical Education. While at Coe, he served as the student assistant strength and conditioning coach working with softball, men's basketball, wrestling, and football. He also spent two summers at Central College, working with all sports and a year as a volunteer assistant at Drake University.

At Penn, Beauregard works with men's soccer, wrestling, and track and field. He enjoys competing in the sport of powerlifting and playing his guitars.

Corey Gray
Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant Coach

Corey Gray is a native of Republic, Mo. and is a 2008 graduate of William Penn with a degree in physical education with an emphasis in strength and conditioning and wellness & recreation. He also competed for the Statesmen football team as a three-year starter at linebacker.

Following his senior season, Gray completed an internship with the WPU S&C program, working with men's basketball and volleyball. In his second year as a graduate assistant coach, Gray is in charge of the men's basketball, women's basketball, and volleyball programs.

Jon Haugen
Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant Coach

Jon Haugen is a native of Fredericksburg, Iowa and is a 2008 graduate of Central College with a degree in exercise science. He was also a four-year starter at tight end for the Dutch football team that won three Iowa Conference championships during that period.

His experience in the Strength and Conditioning field includes internships with the Central College and Drake University programs. During the 2009 Major League Baseball season he was a S&C coach for the Detroit Tigers organization, serving as the Strength Coach for their Double-A affiliate, the Erie Seawolves. Now as a graduate assistant coach at Penn, he is in charge of the softball and baseball programs.

Spenser Remick
Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant Coach

Spenser Remick is a native of Mount Pleasant, Iowa and is a 2008 graduate of Central College with a degree in business management. He was also a four-year member of the Dutch football program.

Prior to his graduate assistant position at Penn, Remick was a department manager for the Pella Corporation in Columbia, S.C.  After a year in South Carolina and the economic downturn, Remick returned to Iowa to pursue his real passion in S&C. He completed an internship with the Central S&C program previous to joining the Penn S&C staff.  At Penn, he works with women's soccer, men's golf, and football.
