Wade Steinlage is in his seventh year as sports information director, fifth year as director of men's golf, and first year as direct of women's golf.
He has guided five men's players to all-Midwest Collegiate Conference recognition and has had one conference medalist as Cole Reiman became the fifth league champion in school history with his win in 2008.
His teams have also done well in the classroom with 13 individuals earning academic all-conference honors and four being named NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Steinlage came to Penn from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, where he spent one year as an intern in the sports information office. At Angelo State, he was the primary contact for women's soccer, volleyball, men's basketball, and softball.
Steinlage serves as the primary media contact for all Statesmen and Lady Statesmen athletic programs. His responsibilities include producing media guides and game programs, doing statistical work at all home contests, serving the media and working with other SID offices, updating the athletics web site (
www.statesmenathletics.com), writing previews and recaps of events, and other duties as assigned.
Steinlage was introduced to the Sports Information world as a student worker at Central College in Pella from 2001-2003. Prior to that experience, he was a sports writer for the Oskaloosa Herald and Pella Chronicle newspapers in 2001. He also interned for the West Ealing Newspaper Group in London.
Steinlage received his bachelor's degree in communication and sociology from Central College in May of 2003. He resides in Oskaloosa with his wife Jodi, a 2006 graduate of William Penn, and their daughter Whitney.
