Amana--The William Penn men's golf team was fortunate to sneak in one more tournament this autumn as it hosted the Iowa Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday.

The four William Penn University Athletic Hall of Fame inductees of 2011 feature a football player called "a nice guy, until he took the field", a softball pitcher who hurled the Lady Statesmen to their first national tournament, a golfer who ignited a resurgence in Penn's spring sport and a basketball player who didn't score much, but helped others so much the team won a conference championship.

Oskaloosa--William Penn University has been honored with the NAIA Champions of Character Five Star award for the 2010-2011 school year as the national list was announced last week.

Silvis, Ill.--The Statesmen golf team received a real treat the last two days as it played on a course used during the PGA season at the NAIA Midwest Invitational Thursday and Friday.

Oskaloosa--In posting the best finish of his collegiate career, Adriaan de Villiers (Jr., Akasia, South Africa, Akasia HS) was named the Midwest Collegiate Conference Men's Golfer of the Week.
