Oskaloosa--Four members of this fall's William Penn women's soccer team were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Soccer Scholar-Athletes.

Oskaloosa--William Penn University Athletics Director Greg Hafner has announced the hiring of Willie McGowan as Head Women's Soccer Coach.

Oskaloosa--Melisa Wink (Sr., Brookfield, Ill., Lyons Township HS) closed out her career with her second postseason honor as the all-Midwest Collegiate Conference women's soccer teams were announced Wednesday.

The four William Penn University Athletic Hall of Fame inductees of 2011 feature a football player called "a nice guy, until he took the field", a softball pitcher who hurled the Lady Statesmen to their first national tournament, a golfer who ignited a resurgence in Penn's spring sport and a basketball player who didn't score much, but helped others so much the team won a conference championship.

Oskaloosa--The 2011 women's soccer campaign concluded Friday night with a 4-1 loss to St. Ambrose in Midwest Collegiate Conference play.
