Oskaloosa--Statesmen triple jumper Javaras Thomas (Jr., Miami, Fla., Miami Beach HS) and Lady Statesmen race walker Katie Burnett (Jr., Mesa, Ariz., Arizona) both claimed the league's track and field weekly honors as the Midwest Collegiate Conference announced its Players of the Week.

Johnson City, Tenn.--Katie Burnett (Jr., Mesa, Ariz., Arizona) put up the best performance of her competitive career to establish a new school record and take home a national runner-up placing at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships Friday.

Mount Vernon--As the rest of the team had a week off to rest up for the indoor conference meet, a very small contingent represented the Penn track and field teams at the Cornell Hilltop Invitational Saturday.

Oskaloosa--William Penn's Katie Burnett (Jr., Mesa, Ariz., Arizona) is one of the best race walkers in the nation and will have the opportunity to showcase her skills on the national stage as she competes in the 103rd Millrose Games on Friday, January 29.

Oskaloosa--Two Lady Statesmen track and field athletes were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2009 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Track and Field Scholar-Athletes.
