| The announcement for the multi-million dollar, 50,000-plus square-foot facility took place on January 26, 2006, while the official groundbreaking was on April 28, 2006. The Penn Activity Center, which opened in August 2008, is a large fieldhouse with over 45 yards of turf and two full-sized basketball courts. Workout equipment overlooks the floor from the east, while a nearly 300-yard running/walking track surrounds the entire complex on the second floor. Another workout area can be found on the first floor as well. During the summer of 2018, a state-of-the-art light and sound equipment was installed to further improve the already incredible facility. Beginning in the 2019-2020 school year, the volleyball teams began utilizing the PAC as their home venue. Baseball, softball, football, and wrestling locker rooms are also located in the building. The wrestling practice room and athletic training room are housed in the PAC as well. |
In the fall of 2011, Statesmen Community Stadium became the new home of the William Penn football and track and field teams. The lacrosse teams also began competing at the facility in 2020. The playing surface is FieldTurf, which allows the soccer teams to also play at the stadium if field conditions do not permit games being played at Drost Field. Home and visiting locker rooms are located beneath the home side bleachers, while athletic training services are available as well. A large press box features a hospitality suite on the third floor, while coaches, media, and game-day staff have ample room to conduct business on the fourth floor. |
Penn Gymnasium is the practice facility for basketball, and was also home to several other sports prior to the construction of the Penn Activity Center. Currently, only the basketball teams and wrestling teams host events in Penn Gymnasium. In 1957, the original gymnasium was built, while the upper gymnasium was added in 1969. The 'game' gym, which has undergone several renovations, received a new floor in 1993 and new bleachers and scoreboards in recent years. Basketball, volleyball, soccer, and lacrosse locker rooms are located in the building, as are coaches offices. |
Drost Field, named after the Carl Drost Family, has been the home of the William Penn soccer teams since 2015, |
