Statesmen of the Week: Amir Everett and Sarah Gutuza
Oskaloosa--Football player Amir Everett (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn., Sports Management) and women's golfer Sarah Gutuza (So., Germiston, South Africa, Political Science) have been named the Statesmen of the Week for the week of October 13-19.
Everett hauled in three passes for 109 yards in last Saturday's Homecoming win over Missouri Baptist. His first catch, which was for a touchdown, was not only the longest of his career, but the longest touchdown pass play in program history--a whopping 92-yard score. He added receptions of 12 and seven yards later in the contest.
Gutuza posted scores of 81 and 85 last Monday and Tuesday at The Statesmen at TPC Deere Run. Her score of 166 helped her finish seventh overall, while William Penn placed second in the team standings. The sophomore's score on Monday was headlined by a hole-in-one on Hole 16. She recorded two other birdies as well.
