As A Statesmen:

Four-year starting quarterback.  Two-time first-team all-Iowa Conference performer.  Quarterback for the Boot Hill Bowl victory.  Team went 28-6 with him under center.  Broke single-season records for total offense and passing as a senior.  Led his team to a 9-1 record in 1972 and an Iowa Conference title.
