As A Statesmen:

Started WPU career as member of conference championship basketball team. Team captain and MVP in tennis.

After Graduation:

Began coaching baseball at William Penn in 1982, owning a current record (as of induction) of 851-418 and a 939-476 overall mark (including high school). Ranks high on NAIA and Iowa HS Baseball Coaches Association lists. Has coached 106 all-conference players, 22 All-Americans, and 11 conference MVPs, while nearly 40 players have gone on to play professionally (three in the majors). Led team to 11 conference titles and has been league Coach of the year eight times (regional coach once). Also served as Athletic Director for 14 years.
