As A Statesmen:

All-conference quarterback and twice a team captain.  Competed in football, basketball, baseball, and track.

After Graduation:

Became the head football coach in 1969 and guided his team to three post-season games. Won three conference championships, was named Conference Coach of the Year three times and NAIA Coach of the Year in 1981. His 51-17-1 record is the best in school history.
