Aidan Piet Leads League as POY; Coach Foster, Keykal, Kidwell, and Fetherston Also Honored
Oskaloosa--The Statesmen men's bowling team took home a host of laurels as the all-Heart of America Athletic Conference teams were announced last weekend.
Aidan Piet (So., Meridian, Idaho, Business Management) was named the Heart Player of the Year, as well as being named as a first-team selection. Bryce Keykal (Sr., Princeton, Minnesota, Secondary Education) and Noah Kidwell (So., Bettendorf, Iowa, Mechanical Engineering) were also selected to the five-person first team. Conor Fetherston (Jr., Dublin, Ireland, Software Engineering) was selected to the five-person second team.
Piet is the Bowler of the Year for the first time in his career and is the seventh POY in program history. Piet and Keykal have now been named to the first team two years in a row. Kidwell is now a first-time honoree, while Fetherston has been named to the second team two years in a row (first team two years ago).
Statesmen head coach Cameron Foster was chosen as Coach of the Year. Foster has now won the COY award all four years he has been at William Penn (Co-COY last year).
WPU, which placed second at the Heart Championship last Saturday and Sunday, recorded five top-10 performances this year.
Entering postseason action, Piet is leading the Statesmen with a 209.6 average in 36 games (high of 258). He once placed in the top 10 and was in the top 25 four times.
Keykal's average of 198.9 pins (34 games) comes with a high game of 279. The senior also earned one top-25 placement on the season.
Kidwell is averaging 194.8 pins over the span of 31 games with a season best of 244.
Fetherston has an average of 192.8 pins (34 games) with a season high of 245 pins. He also has one top-25 placement to his credit.
Dylan Chastain of Missouri Baptist was named Heart Rookie of the Year, while Justin Graves of Grand View was named Newcomer of the Year for the conference.
