Keykal Competes Against Nation’s Top Individuals at ISC

Las Vegas, Nev.--Bryce Keykal (Sr., Princeton, Minn., Secondary Education) put a bow on his season and career as he competed at the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships Tuesday.

Keykal, one of 24 individuals who advanced out of last month's sectionals, qualified 15th with a six-game total of 1,236 pins (206.0 average), including posting scores of 151-213-257-145-245-225.

Spencer Robarge of Wichita State (Kan.) earned the top seed for the single-elimination bracket competition with 1,519 pins (253.2 avg.).

Keykal was then paired up against No. 18 seed Ardani Rodas of St. Francis (Ill.) in the opening round, but unfortunately fell short in the three-game, total-pin battle by a tally of 752-510.

"I have enjoyed a lot of great moments at William Penn over the last few years," Keykal said.  "From having the first 300 game in program history as a freshman to making nationals this year, I would not have wanted it to go any other way."

"This week may not have gone the way Bryce would have wanted, but overall he still performed very well and just ran into a tough opponent in the opening round of match play," Head Coach Cameron Foster said.  "Myself as a coach and we as a program are so proud of Bryce and everything he accomplished over his four years at WPU.  He has been the model student-athlete with great work ethic and leadership on the lanes and in the classroom.  He will be missed, but his mark in William Penn history will be forever."
