Trio Claim NWCA Academic Accolades

Oskaloosa--The William Penn men's wrestling team garnered some additional academic hardware as the National Wrestling Coaches Association announced its 2025-2026 NAIA Men's Scholar All-Americans.

A total of 262 individuals from within the NAIA earned the recognition with WPU picking up three honorees.

Luis Garza (Fr., Pharr, Texas, Exercise Science) led the navy and gold with a 4.0 Grade Point Average entering the spring semester.  Brody Brisker (Fr., Wilton, Iowa, Sport Management) was next at 3.89, while Lane Scorpil (Sr., Columbus Junction, Iowa, Business Management) also hit the criteria with a 3.30 GPA.

To qualify for the honor, student-athletes must attend the nominating institution for one semester and meet one of the following criteria:

--Have a 3.0 cumulative GPA and earn All-America honors

--Have a 3.2 cumulative GPA and have been a national qualifier

--Have a 3.5 cumulative GPA and have won 60% of their total matches in at least 60% of the team's schedule

--Have a 3.5 cumulative GPA and have been a participant in the conference qualifying tournament
