Women's Basketball Game Versus Mount Mercy Cancelled

Oskaloosa--William Penn Athletics has announced that the women's basketball team will not be playing Wednesday's Heart of America Athletic Conference game against Mount Mercy.

"This decision was made out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our student-athletes," stated Commissioner Lori Thomas. "The conference and teams are adhering to the outlined guidelines in the Heart Promise."

The decision comes after contact tracing and cautionary quarantine procedures were enacted. Cancelling this game will allow student-athletes to return to competition in the safest manner possible by allowing the appropriate time for practice and physical reconditioning.

There will be no makeup date.

With the cancellation, the men's basketball game versus Mount Mercy has been moved up to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The William Penn women's basketball team's next contest is scheduled for Saturday, a home matchup versus Missouri Valley in Heart play at 2 p.m.
